This Taiyo Toyota Hilux 4WD is a 4WD pickup truck with winch and crane produced by Taiyo R/C, and released within Japan and other countries worldwide in 1986.
A successor to the original 1984 Taiyo Toyota Hilux 4WD, it is one of several similar pickup trucks produced from the same chassis and body design between 1984 and 1986, each with subtle design changes and inclusion or exclusion of a front winch and rear crane.
One of the more popular or common models was the 1986 Taiyo 4x4 Winch Super Roader, as well as the 1984 Taiyo 4x4 Winch Ford Ranger, and others such as those badged as Radio Shack in the USA, and Tomy Toys elsewhere.
Performance and Features
Likely an evolution of the 1983 Auto Wheelie Ford Ranger concept (not radio controlled), it's not especially fast or efficient - with 4x C size batteries AND a 9V onboard the vehicle (plus another 9V in the controller!) this thing carries alot of weight and will eat up batteries in no time, so you'd best have some rechargeable batteries handy!

Collectability and Availability
A timeless design that was used for half a dozen other Taiyo 4x4's, the Toyota Hilux branding, and the frankly excellent remote controlled winch feature all make for an absolute classic Taiyo RC that deserves to be part of any collection, in one way or another.
You'll be able to find this design, or one very similar both at Japanese Auctions, and at US and Global eBay auctions, under Taiyo, Tyco, Radio Shack, and Tomy brands.
Check out the 4WD Winch Super Roader for a similar design.
