Which model is this?

Hello, Gianfranco from Italy here.

My parents gifted me for Christmas this Taiyo RC car in the early Eighties (maybe just 1980). It really never worked very well... I  never understood if the controller was defective, or just collected every signal around, being on the CB 27 MHz band.
Neverthless, I kept it in the basement until a few days ago, when I replaced the electronics with a modern RC system by Fly-Sky: now it works, finally!! What a fun!!! (better late than never... LOL!)

I would like to hear anything about this model: which vehicle it it reproduces, and so on... just for sake of curiosity. You know: it has been just a (poorly working) toy, nowadays it is a piece of my childhood...

Moreover, since I have been able to make it working as due, I also am repairing some damages - I rebuilt a missing part of the bull bar, etc. A tire has a bad cut on a side: it still works, but it would be nice to replace it: someone knows if and where replacement tires can be found?

Greeting,

Gianfranco

P. S. If anyone needs the controller (the radio and/or the receiver), just ask. I cannot guarantee they work, though.

Radio Racer. Definitely a Taiyo (manufacturer of Tyco). Once I get home I'll check my spreadsheet of Taiyo cars, and see if any 'Buggy' is listed.

Thank you very much! Yes, 100% Taiyo - the only thing  we can be sure about this model. You can see the Taiyo logo on the battery cover, in the undercarriage picture. Next time I will post a controller picture too.

I am looking forward for your findings!

Cheers!

Gianfranco
