Taiyo Jet Blaster

Hi guys,

My childhood memories of playing with my Taiyo Jet Blaster are endless. After that life took a backseat once I graduated high school, my favorite little RC car was hidden somewhere with the rest of my cool childhood toys. Now, after 30 years (mid-life crisis lol), I managed to find the body not exactly intact. I couldn't find the remote and it's also missing a wheel. The front bumper was missing and the part connecting it was a plate that connects the A arms. So I am trying to revive it somehow. I tried to 3d print the missing parts and I'm yet to get to the wheel and it's spindle. I also need to get new rubber tires. Any suggestions are welcome.

Woah, that is incredible work on those parts! If possible you should share the files (or link to Thingiverse), we always need new part models.

So the Jet Blaster was also sold as the Mini Blaster by both Tyco and Taiyo. I  had a Mini Blaster myself as a kid in Australia, a red one, and yeah I loved that thing so much. Despite the smaller size, they really had plenty of go, and were so much fun to drive around.

Depending where you live, I'd look on your local eBay for a Mini Blaster (either taiyo or tyco) and get as many parts you can from it. The car you buy will probably be in better condition than yours, however its the sentimental value of restoring your original which is important. Mini Blasters aren't too expensive, so there's a good chance you'll find one and be able to complete this project.

Thank you for sharing, very inspiring to see your work. Please keep us updated, and don't be afraid to ask for help.

I have some front tyres listed on ebay if your interested.
