Metro Reactor RC Car

Hey guys

I have recently acquired a Metro Reactor RC car. I believe this was made in 1996. The story behind this is i used to own this as a kid and loved playing with it. Before i acquired this, I have been searching for at least the 3 years to find any information of photos of this RC car with no luck. I didn't know the name, the make of it, all I remembered was what it looked like (form memory) and it took a "Tyco" cassette battery. Countless hours of google searching, ebay searching, marketplace searching with keywords such as "TYCO, METRO, TAIYO, RC CARs, 90's" etc... revealed nothing, to the point i thought it was a false memory.

However one night a month back, I searched marketplace and there it was!! For sale, near my house (i just wanted a picture to confirm my memory but ill settle for a sale haha). I had to pick it up. Finally, after years of searching and no results ANYWHERE i finally obtained it

I even contacted this website about a year ago to see if it existed, as i knew if it did it would be on here, but nothing.

I don't know if its "valuable" as such but to me it is, sentimentally. Now, even after knowing the name of it, Google reveals NOTHING. Not even a photo!!

I am not sure if this car works, as i don't have a battery for it, and i read up on the fantastic article on this website about it, but struggling to find a charger. The battery is easier enough to find however.

I have uploaded photos of Reactor, which is in fantastic condition, as well as the box, although in average condition. I dont have the instructions unfortunately. If you want any more info about it, let me know and ill try help you out.

Oh my gosh, the box is so cool! Thank you man, really appreciate it. Not often I see Metro RC history I'm not aware of.

I was just thinking to myself, wasn't there a guy who asked about a similar vehicle last year? lol... well I'm glad you found it.

Writing up an article now.

For your viewing pleasure 😁 i recently picked one up over in queensland australia and i was lucky enough to get the instructions with mine. I was so suprised as to the lack of information online for this particular model, as i have vivid memories of a few of my friends owning this very model. If you would like a more detailed copy of the manual i can possibly organise to get it scanned so you can print out your own copy.
