Tyco Lamborghini Championship Electric Racing was a 1993 slot car set released by Tyco in the US, UK, and other countries worldwide.
This set is similar but should not be confused with:
– 1988 Tyco Lamborghini Challenge (6201)
– 1997 Tyco Lamborghini Championship (6248)
Features
Building on the legacy of the earlier Lamborghini Challenge and further demonstrating Tyco’s obsession with Lamborghini-based toys (such as the Tyco Lamborghini Countach Twin Turbo 9.6V, among others), the company released this 1993 slot car set which boasted an impressive 60 feet (almost 20 meters) of track.
Though the specific Lamborghini model is not mentioned on the box, it’s pretty clear these are the popular Lamborghini Countach models, equipped with the Magnum 440-X2 chassis. This despite the Countach’s successor, the Diablo, having being launched just a few years earlier in 1990, Tyco still held the licensing rights for the Countach since the late 80s and aimed to maximize its value.

Other features
The 60′ track features many special track pieces, including:
- Hi-Bank Corkscrew
- Squeeze Track
- Two Crossover Lane Changers
- Hi-Bank Curved Track
- Automatic Lap Counter
Track Layout
The Lambo Challenge ships with a single prescribed track layout, and boy, it’s huge!
