The Taiyo Jaws Landshark Car is a radio controlled toy manufactured by Taiyo (Japan), and sold exclusively in Universal Studios Japan from 2004 (Correction: Sold exclusively at Universal Studios Japan)
Here it is folks. If there was ever a sign that Taiyo was dead, it was the Jaws Landshark Car. Somehow related to the 1970s movie and made into... a mechanical vehicle? It's Japanese, what else explanation is there!

While it doesn't SAY Taiyo on it, it does have a Taiyo model number, Taiyo controller, and overall Taiyo style packaging, so it's definitely legit.
Unfortunately, the undead remains of Taiyo were still lurching around in 2004, propped up by Sega, 'Weekend at Bernies' style, for a few years yet, though thankfully nothing they released would be quite as bad as this!
Update August 2022
We managed to get some better images of this monstrosity! So bad it's good?

Update November 2023:
Finally we have some new information that makes sense as to why Taiyo would produce such a monstrosity. The JAWS Land Shark Car, like the Back to the Future and Knight Rider cars, was sold exclusively in Universal Studios Japan.
Does that explain why it looks so weird? Well yes. Looking at the front of the car (above), it's obviously modelled off a train car from a ride at Universal Studios. Ah, it finally makes sense!
It wasn't until I saw a decent photo of the controller that I realized...
