The Tyco Jet Hopper is a radio control car manufactured by Taiyo of Japan, and released into the UK, US, and other markets worldwide in 1992.
A Tyco Jet Hopper? Surely we're mistaken! Nope. While the Jet Hopper is the original name of the Tyco Turbo Hopper (it's only called that in America), they did decide to use the name for this similar model many years later.
Features
With the RC car market becoming increasingly competitive, Tyco began focusing less on the biggest, fastest, most high performance, and instead focused on value, and excitement. While this brought us many 'gimmick' cars, some much loved and successful, it also brought us better value RC buggies, such as the Tyco Jet Hopper.
- Full Function
- Proper Suspension (Front and Rear Shocks)
- 6xAA batteries (7.2 Rechargeable, 9V Alkaline)
- 2 Speed Gearbox
- Off-Road Rubber Tires (Solid)
- Race Buggy Styling in Fluro Yellow or Fluro Red

Performance
We don't have one of these to compare, but given the design specifications such as a reduced size, 2WD, 9V if using alkalines, and small tires, we'd suggest this little buggy had heaps more going for it than the usual 4xAA models Taiyo / Tyco would put out for reduced cost. We don't have one, but we'd love to try one!
