The Taiyo Super Typhoon is a 1/8 scale radio controlled hovercraft manufactured by Taiyo and released in Japan in 1990.

Features and Performance
The Super Typhoon is 25% larger than the original 1988 Taiyo Typhoon Hovercraft, mostly due to a much larger air curtain skirt, and emphasises rear fans.
The speed also increased from 15kmh (9mph) of the original, up to 20km/h (12mph) in the Super Typhoon.

Currently I do not own a Super Typhoon, so I'm not certain what motor it uses, however based on previous models and the size of the motor compartment, I'd expect it's still using Twin Mabuchi 370 motors on the fans, and potentially an upgraded central fan (also 370) to fill the skirt.
At 1/8 scale in size, it's a big boy, and I wonder how controllable it must be at this size, given the original is not known for its precision!

Availability and Collectability
The Taiyo Super Typhoon appears occasionally on Japanese auction sites, less often than any other Typhoon model, and so getting your hands on one may be difficult. In the opposite to usual circumstances, it may be easier to get a Tyco Typhoon II which is the same product with different decals.
As for whether or not it's collectable, well... just look at it!
