The Tyco 9.6V Turbo Ferrari F-40 is a 1:24 scale radio controlled car manufactured by Taiyo of Japan, and released onto the US, UK, and other worldwide markets.
Important: There are several Ferrari F-40 models made by Taiyo and Tyco, however only 2 are proper 9.6v / 8xAA models, and only 1 I'd personally recommend as the best. That is this Tyco 9.6V Turbo model made in 1989.

Such a great looking model, even better than the real thing I suspect!
Design
The Ferrari F-40 looks fantastic. The car has a deep red gloss, with slick black tires, and chrome wheels. The stickers are more tasteful on the Tyco model (vs. original Taiyo), smaller, and less visible, but the important ones (Ferrari logo, grille) are there.
The car feels 'solid' in your hands, well built, and slightly heavy due to the 8xAA batteries crammed into its tiny 25cmx13cm (9inx5.1in) body. They really could not have fit one more battery in this thing, it's basically a 9.6V battery pack on wheels.

Performance
The best way to describe it, having the power of a Turbo Hopper in half the size, with slick wheels, and a beautiful Italian red supercar body. It's great fun to drive, and will do donuts around your living room all day. With a top speed of 25km/h it's not quite the fastest Taiyo, but still plenty fast.
Recommendation
Easily in my Top 5 of all Taiyo Tyco models of all time, highly recommended - if you can find one. Note that the Tyco model is slightly upgraded over the Taiyo version (Tyco one has proper steering), and of course ensure you get the 9.6V variety as the 6.0V and 4xAA versions are quite different.
