Features and Performance
Unlike many other Taiyo licensed cars with only 4 x AA batteries, The BMW Z1 has a little extra oomph with 6 x AA battery power providing 7.4V with batteries of the day, or 9.0V with modern Alkalines - more than enough to make the Z1 plenty fast when zipping around indoors.
And with those slick tires, it's sure to be plenty of fun doing donuts, and trying (and failing) to drift it across a smooth indoor surface. What's more, it's a truly great looking model that holds up as both a display and a playable toy.
Dry rot warning
As with all other slick tire models of this era, I'd recommend carefully checking the tires have not suffered from dry rot, as is the case with several (but not all) Taiyo / Tyco slick tire models, indicated by a dull blotchy surface on the tire, instead of the typical rubber sheen.
