Tyco Racin Bandits is a Magnum 440-X2 slot car set that later inspired the highly popular 1990 Tyco Baja Bandit, and 1992 Tyco Bandit radio control cars.

Features
Based on the artwork of Ken Smith, the Racin Bandits track is designed to simulate off-road racing in the desert, much like the Baja 500, with uneven terrain, hills, and jumps.
It features an up-hill climb, a cut-off track, spin-out apron, and "S" Curve.
Strangely there's even less decoration on this set than Tyco Racin Hoppers, but regardless it's still a classic that brings a smile to my face.
The track features four track elements that keep things interesting. The two Magnum 440-X2 chassis slot cars styled as Baja Bandits
Track Layout
The layout is fairly simple, though the mountain climb and 'jump' make up for it, keeping things exciting enough.
For those looking for a little more drama, the Tyco Racin Hoppers has more decoration, and is very similar overall.
The original commercial from the late 80s, as with most vintage Tyco commercials, was heavily degraded however with modern AI software we're able to enhance the picture, and add some color back in. Check it out!
Availability and Collectability
It's a popular set, though thankfully it's still usually available online, with many still in good condition. Watch out for cars with cracking and deteriorated wheels, but other than that the sets have stood the test of time fairly well.
