The Tyco BMW M3 is a radio controlled model manufactured by Taiyo of Japan, and released onto the US, UK, and other global markets in 1988.
Launched together as a pair with the 1988 Tyco Porsche 959 (Silver/Red), the BMW M3 was an inexpensive decent quality RC car designed to satisfy the bulk of the market who just wanted a nice looking RC sports car that was fun to drive, but didn't need high performance.
Features and Performance
This is a full-function RC car, with 2 speed gearbox, running on 4xAA batteries (4.8V Ni-Cd, 6V Alkaline).
It was'nt fast by any measure, but it did come fitted with rubber slicks (tires) which made it capable of doing donuts if they floor was smooth enough.
Recommendation
BMW/M3 enthusiasts may prefer it, but our pick in this bunch would have to be the Porsche 959. It has an unforgettable classic style that will continue to look good on your shelf long after you bought it.
