The Tyco Indy Turbo is a radio controlled car manufactured by Taiyo (Japan), and released onto the US, UK, and other markets worldwide in 1987.
The yellow and blue variant is based on the real 1986 Kraco Indy Car driven by Michael Andretti

Features and Performance
A full function car running on 9.6V with 8xAA batteries is always going to have decent performance, particularly for such a lightweight model with slick rubber tires, performance on a smooth indoor surface is always going to be entertaining.
These Indy Turbo models featured front suspension and a solid rear end, which worked well for the intended purpose, while keeping costs down.

Slick Tire Warning
As we've repeatedly stated regarding Taiyo / Tyco models with slick tires, please be very careful when buying sight unseen (or limited photos) as it's very common for slick tires of all types made by Taiyo to degrade. See the photo at the bottom of this article of tires showing rubber degradation so you'll know what to look out for.
The best way to avoid this is to buy a model where the tires don't have any unusual dimpling, orange peel like or rough surface, and ask the seller if the tires are firm or soft. Squeezing the tires they should be firm, not soft.

Recommendation
In my view, the Turbo Indys are some of the better early Taiyo / Tyco models for the money, whether you plan to use yours, or keep it as a shelf queen, it will serve both purposes admirably.
