MODEL REVIEW

The Taiyo Outlaw Sprinter is a radio controlled car released onto markets globally in 1987.

It is the full size version of the 1988 Taiyo Mini Outlaw, and was also released a year later in the US, UK, and other markets as the 1988 Tyco Turbo Outlaw.

Background

For those unfamiliar, Sprint cars are custom built 6.7L 900 horsepower V8 race cars popular in America, Canada, and Australia, which race around an oval dirt track. Sprint cars have been common stepping stones for famous Formula One, Indy 500 and Nascar racers such as Mario Andretti, Al Unser Jr, Al Unser Snr, Johnny Parsons, and many others.

Performance

I have not driven the 9.6v Outlaw myself so I can't comment from experience (yet), though with 9.6v power I'd expect it to have good acceleration, similar to a Jet Hopper MK1. Center of gravity may be an issue with that big wing up top.
