The Tyco Turbo Stocker 7-Eleven is a radio control car manufactured by Taiyo of Japan, and released onto the US, UK, and other global markets in 1986.
Features
This Turbo Stocker is the Kyle Petty 7-Eleven variant running at 49Mhz frequency. It was marketed and sold alongside the 27Mhz Ricky Rudd Motor Craft variant, as part of a common Tyco feature that allowed two cars to run at the same time, encouraging friends and family to race each other.

Performance
With a proper 9.6V (8xAA) power plant, the Turbo Stocker has plenty of power at hand, and coupled with a stiff chassis and slick tires, these are fun models to drive - assuming you can find one in drivable condition that you're willing to risk driving!
Sadly the successor to this vehicle released a few years later in 1989 was downgraded to a simple 4xAA powertrain, making these original 9.6V Turbo models even more desireable. As fast as a Jet Hopper, yet smaller and lighter, with slick tires, they're the ultimate indoor basher, and will also run fine on smooth concrete or bitumen outdoors.
Recommendation
While there were plenty of Turbo Stockers available when I originally wrote this article in 2022, now it seems they've all been snapped up. According to our price history, just 1-2 models come online every few months, but these are low value unboxed, often broken cars in need of a proper restoration - a goldmine for someone (like me) who enjoys restoring these cars, but if you're a collector looking for an A-Grade package ready to go, you're likely to do better joining a Facebook group and asking other collectors if anyone has a suitable model they're willing to sell.
In terms of collectability, the interest in these is clear - NASCAR and US Motorsports is popular worldwide, and with the models almost 40 years old now, the kids who had these when they were young will be well into their career and be more than capable of picking up that car which Santa gave them for Christmas, or which they did get, enjoy, and now look back on with nostalgia.
