It's tough grading the early models as the performance isn't stellar, however these are true vintage toys. Ultimately it depends on when you grew up, and so what you value as nostalgia.

MODEL REVIEW

The Dickie Audi Quattro is a radio control car manufactured by Taiyo (Japan), and released into the European market, and other markets worldwide in 1981.

Features and Performance

Taiyo manufactured the Quattro and supplied it to several manufacturers including Dickie, and released it under their own Taiyo brand in Japan, with several variants available (shown above).

As this was 1981, well before the 'Golden Age of Toy R/C', performance was limited on the Quattro, utilizing 2xAA Batteries for drive, and 1 X  9V battery in the vehicle to power the radio receiver.

It was full function however, with forward, reverse, left, and right passive steering, meaning the steering would engage only when the vehicle was in motion.

Model Number

Note: We cannot yet confirm the model number, however our best guess is 8107 as the only Taiyo Audi Quattro of the era, or 8006 which is shown on the number plate, a common 'easter egg' used by Taiyo in all their cars.
