Tyco Wild Thing

Hi All

I'm looking for some advice relating to my old Tyco Wild Thing (neon green/yellow) that was recently dug out of my parents loft. I cannot locate the transmitter but having checked the body of the Wild Thing it states 40mhz. I've had a good look online and can only see that the transmitters were either 27mhz or 49mhz. Is this 40mhz correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Simon.

Hi Simon,

Yes, the 40Mhz will be correct. So my Australian (Metro RC) Wild Thing is 40Mhz, and I believe the UK also had 40Mhz. Are you in one of these countries?

There will be more 49Mhz ones for sale because that was  used in the US which is a huge market, but you will find a 40Mhz controller eventually.

You're lucky too, the Wild Thing is one of the most wanted cars!

Hi Simon

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I'm in the UK but really struggling to see any 40mhz transmitters and seeing Wild Things for sale are even rarer! I've seen one for sale in the last 6 months in the UK.

I'll keep an eye out and see what pops up, was just hoping someone might know the 40mhz channel and at least I could get it running until a genuine transmitter comes up.

Thanks again

Simon

Yeah super rare. So it's a Type O controller at 40.000Mhz. Other cars with the same controller are listed here, or I've attached a screenshot for you.

Personally I'd be going for a wrecked Python with 40Mhz controller, they're much more common than Wild Things, and can be cheap in bad condition.

All controller types listed here:

Goodluck!
