The Tyco Wild Sting is a radio controlled vehicle, manufactured by Taiyo of Japan, and released by Tyco in the US, UK, and countries worldwide in 1998.
A variant of the Tyco Wild Sting was released one year later, as the 1999 Taiyo Wild Scorpion with a reduced 6.0V.
Features and Design
We don’t have our hands on the Wild Sting yet, but it looks much like a Rebound 4×4 with an extension on the front which provides for some interesting acrobatics. The 2nd set of wheels on the main body appear to be connected via gear to the 3rd set of wheels (on the extension). The 4th set don’t appear to be connected to anything at all. Do you own a Wild Sting, have we got this right?
Regardless, it’s sure to make for some interesting tricks, though would undoubtedly make it less dynamic than the original Rebound 4×4.
Performance
Based on the specs we’d expect the Wild Sting to have enough power with the 7.2V flex pack, though it’s more about acrobatics with this thing than speed or power.
Feedback Needed
Do you own a Wild Sting? How does it drive? Is it any fun?
Until we have one to test, there’s not much more to be said about the Wild Sting.
