The Tyco Micro Fugitive is a small scale radio control toy manufactured by Taiyo (Japan), and released into the US, UK, and other markets worldwide in 1997.
It is the ‘micro’ version of the full size 1997 Tyco Fugitive 9.6v Turbo.
Concept
As a ‘Micro’ toy, it is not full function (forward/backward/left/right), but is what we call a Forward and Reverse-Turn model. This is where it can drive forward normally, but it will only turn by reversing in a 90 degree arc.
It’s a diabolical design, purpose built to make kids sad on Christmas Day.
The best thing about the Tyco Micro Fugitive is that it comes with a box, and on the back of the box are photos of all the RC cars your parents should have bought you instead!

Features and Performance
Performance wise, it runs on 2xAA batteries (3V), the same as the truly miniature Radican / Canned Heat series of cars which would be a similar price, proper full function, and well designed!
So if you’re visiting us in a time machine from the 1990s, we’d recommend purchasing anything, literally ANYTHING other than a Micro version of an R/C car. For the same money we’d recommend a Radican or Canned Heat series car, or spend a few bucks more at get a Tyco Mini (e.g. 1992 Tyco Mini Blaster) which are far better value, full function, and heaps of fun.
