The Taiyo Fast Traxx Eliminator is a radio controlled car manufactured by Taiyo (Japan), and released into the Japanese market in 1991.
Based on the original Japanese 1990 Fast Traxx, but with a unique futuristic pick-up style body that would also appear on the 1992 Tyco Eliminator / Super Bandit, among others.

Features and Performance
Powered by Twin Mabuchi 280 motors with a 9.6V battery pack, the Fast Traxx Eliminator has plenty of go, though is slightly slower than a Jet Hopper MK1 at 21kmh, so it’s best at off-road and indoors bashing. That said, it’s more about the acceleration and wild run-over-anything nature of the beast which makes it exciting.
There exists a smaller version, the Tyco Mini Traxx Pickup. Despite it being named the ‘Pickup’, it should have been more accurately called a Mini Traxx Eliminator, since it’s using the Eliminator’s body.
The actual Fast Traxx Pickup uses a more conventional Pick-Up style body, the same as the Bandit and Racing Pick-up 4WD.

Availability and Collectability
Fast Traxx Eliminators can occasionally be found on eBay, however typically you’ll need to go to Yahoo Japan or another Japanese store to find one.
As for whether they’re worth owning – absolutely. Without hesitation, any Fast Traxx is a must, however the Eliminator is personally my favorite Fast Traxx, and especially in that wild black and pink color scheme.
Whether you like the original, the Pick-Up, Eliminator, or Half-Traxx, it’s an absolute Taiyo / Tyco classic as much as the Tyco Bandit, or Taiyo Jet Hopper. Give at least one a try, or like us, collect them all!
