The Taiyo Wave Albatross is a radio control speedboat released by Taiyo into the global market in 1990.

Okay, this one is rare. Very rare.
So rare none of us knew about it until it appeared on eBay one day!

The 9.6V Taiyo Albatross Racing Boat

As far as we can tell, it is an original mode by Taiyo which was later rebranded for the American market in 1992 by Tyco as the  Tyco RipTide Racing Boat.

Assuming the feature set is the same as the RipTide, then this will have:

  • 2 x Mabuchi 370 Motors, the largest ever used by Taiyo
  • Turn back feature when out of range
