The Taiyo Fast Traxx Pickup is the original Made in Japan version, released in 1990 within Japan only, and later sold in the USA and other countries as the Tyco Fast Traxx Pickup.
Features and Performance
Powered by twin Mabuchi 280 motors with a 9.6V battery pack, the Fast Traxx has plenty of go, though is slightly slower than a Jet Hopper MK1 at 21kmh, so it’s best at off-road and indoors bashing.

Using the Taiyo Turbo Racing Pickup’s body, the Fast Traxx Pickup looks positively mad in Black (49Mhz) and Neon yellow (27Mhz), with Red (27Mhz) also available in the US version. Apart from the Pickup style hard body, all other features are the same as the regular Fast Traxx.
Variants of Fast Traxx
Apart from the original Fast Traxx, there was also the Fast Traxx Eliminator which is more of a futuristic style pickup truck (some might say… a CyberTruck!) that used the 1992 Tyco Eliminator body.

Mini Traxx Pickup?
While there exists a smaller version, the Tyco Mini Traxx Pickup, despite being called a Pickup it actually has the Eliminator body (click for our investigation).
Recommendation
Without hesitation, owning any Fast Traxx is a must. Whether you like the original, the Pick-Up, Eliminator, or Half-Traxx, it’s an absolute Taiyo / Tyco classic as much as the Tyco Bandit, or Taiyo Jet Hopper. Give at least one a try, or like us, collect them all!
