The Taiyo 4×4 Winch Super Roader was released in 1986 as one of several 3xC+9V and 4xC+9V chassis 4WD vehicles, a few of which featured the working motor driven winch.
The Taiyo Super Roader is one of the better iterations of this timeless Taiyo 4×4 design, with the front winch powered by setting the usual fast/slow switch to the additional 3rd setting of “winch”. This allowed the controller to power the forward/reverse of the winch, instead of driving the truck itself.
As with other models, this is not a speed demon, and it will chew through the 3xC and 1x9V batteries which are all onboard, not counting the 9v in the controller!
Regardless, it’s a classic, and most serious collectors will have at least one of these designs in their collection.
